I am opposed to this BESS development at Middleton of Blackford. APP/2025/0415
The reasons for my objections are as follows:
Increased noise during construction and operation of the battery site. The cumulative effect of noise from the substation, grid stability facility and other BESS sites locally has not been taken into account in their acoustic model.
Potential impact on groundwater, private water supplies and increased run off and flood risks. Our private water supply is a spring fed well adjacent to the proposed site. A burn runs at the lower end of the site that feeds PWS of other residents and ultimately flows into the village. Any disturbance from increased run off (flood risks), impact on aquifers (on PWS) during construction and / or runoff from fire suppressants would greatly impact the water courses.
Impact on the landscape: the area is being irreparably damaged by these battery sites.
Fire risk: cannot be eliminated completely.
Hello Marguerite,
We have incorporated these comments into our response to the developer and recorded in our list of objections for future. Thank you very much for sending them to us via email as well.
